Hello there! I'm  Tatiana Kawanishi. Nice to meet you. :)

Since I was a kid, drawing was a way for me to tell all kinds of stories that popped into my head. A crazy character, a mysterious place, or a thrilling fight. encounter. Those drawings were slowly becoming comics that I loved creating when I was a teenager. When I heard about the Animation and Digital Art course at UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais), I knew that working in the animation industry would be a blast! I can use my love of visual storytelling to build shorts, feature films, TV Shows?? I’m in!

Spoiler alert: it was a blast! I loved working on so many different projects, from advertisement pieces, feature films, and to TV Shows, being a storyboard artist was and still is an exciting job and I’m looking forward to keeping working on amazing projects!

Some of the projects that I would highlight are:

  • “Te prego lá fora”, Estricnina Desenhos Animados (Brazil). 2D Animation Short film. Paramount +, 2021.

  • “Motherboard”, Espacial Films (Brazil). 2D Animation Feature film. O2 Filmes, 2022.

  • “Badabean”, Birdo Studio (Brazil). 2D Animation TV Show. Discovery Kids, 2022.

  • “Counting with Paula” - Season 04. Omens Studios (Singapore) - 3D Animation TV Show. Omens Studios, 2021.

In January 2026, I will graduate with a degree in Game Art at Centennial College, Toronto, Canada. I originally pursued this course to improve my storyboard skills and expand my visual storytelling toolbox. However, it ultimately provided me with a much broader understanding of the game production pipeline.
Now, I have hands-on knowledge of modeling, UVs, texturing, lighting, and final implementation in Unreal Engine, which gives me more confidence to work on 3D-based projects and collaborate effectively with other departments in production.

I am proficient with software such as Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, Toon Boom Harmony, Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine, Adobe Substance Painter, Maxon ZBrush, and Marmoset Toolbag, and I’m always curious to learn new tools.

Feel free to contact me if you think I could contribute to your project!
